North American CEO Jacki Kelly has left IPG Mediabrands after just 15 months in the position for a new role at parent company Interpublic Group. Kelly's move swiftly follows Microsoft's decision to split its global ad business (worth nearly $100 million) between IPG and Dentsu. Media planning and buying was consolidated from IPG's UM and Publicis Group's MediaVest to Dentsu's Carat. "Given Jacki's role in the overall IPG Microsoft win, [IPG CEO] Michael Roth has asked that she move to IPG and lead the on-boarding process as well as support other global client needs of the IPG network," explained Matt Seiler, global CEO of IPG Mediabrands. "This shift recognizes and allows Jacki's proven leadership abilities, client acumen and brilliant partnership to be shared and applied across IPG and its clients. We look forward to working with one of our own as she takes on this exciting challenge." With Kelly's move, IPG Mediabrands will use its brand leadership teams to manage direct connections with global clients based in North America. "Global client leads at the agencies will also be closely aligned with the brand leaders and the North American COO—ensuring further consistency, efficiency and accountability across the network, while we conclude our search for the right commercial leader to take on our North American cluster," Seiler told Adweek. Kelly's move isn't the only executive shift for the company: Guy Beach has moved out of his COO role to become the global chief commercial officer, a newly created position. Beach will work closely with the global client finance team, the global account team and business leads, as well as the new business teams. He will also partner with Magna Global on deals with media owners. Chris Loll will replace Beach in the COO role in June. He most recently served as managing director for Wunderman. "Throughout his impressive career—including the last twelve years at WPP—Chris has been an outspoken proponent of innovation and effectiveness, a vision that he will continue with IPG Mediabrands," Seiler told Adweek. "Based in New York, Chris will work closely with the North American and global leadership teams, putting his seasoned leadership skills and operational excellence to work for clients and colleagues across the North American network."
