Olivia Newton-John Headlining New Show in Vegas

Olivia Newton-John made the announcement on Tuesday that she will be heading to Sin City this spring to headline Summer Nights, a new show that she will be starring in at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
“I am thrilled to be able to call Las Vegas home for a while,” said the former Grease star. “I have performed here many times through the years and have had nothing but wonderful memories and I look forward to even more fun at the Flamingo. Victoria Jackson, the former “Saturday Night Live” comedian who made headlines with her Twitter tirade after the 2012 election, announced this week that she’s running for Williamson County Commissioner in Tennessee.
The comedian and actress has petitioned to become an independent candidate for one of two seats and says that she feels the time has come for her to get involved at a higher level than ever before, although she’s been an outspoken Tea Party participant and has contributed to Fox News.

FDA Reveals New Anti-Smoking Campaign For Teens

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today revealed a new anti-smoking ad campaign targeted at teens. The ads will be geared toward preventing teens aged 12 to 17 from ever smoking cigarettes. The agency estimates that 10 million teens in that age range have smoked a cigarette or would be open to doing so.

Dell Layoffs Confirmed; Numbers Smaller than Rumored

Earlier last month, reports leaked stating that Dell was preparing to layoff a massive amount of its workers worldwide. The Register, a British technology website, stated on January 9th that Dell would layoff 20% of its U.S.-based sales members, while also relieving 30% of its sales and marketing staff in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. These numbers would mean that over 15,000 Dell employees would lose their job.

Super Bowl Bet Costs Furniture Store $7 Million

A few weeks ago, Houston furniture store owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale lost $685,000 in a promotion that gave 100 of his customers free furniture for correctly guessing that the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks would square off in this year’s Super Bowl.
Apparently, Mattress Mack is a gambling man. The store owner up the ante and bet $7 million that the Broncos would be victorious in the big game.
