On Tuesday evening, a California Highway Patrolman arrested a fire fighter. The cause? The fire fighter was too busy tending to injured motorists at a crash site to move a fire engine on the cop’s orders.
Okay, it was probably more complicated than that. Maybe the fire engine was blocking traffic. Maybe the motorist’s injuries weren’t too dire. Maybe the fire fighter had a few choice words for the patrolman. Maybe the cop had had a bad day.

Progressive spokeswoman Flo sat out the Super Bowl—"We're not trying to make the noise even noisier," the company's CMO, Jeff Charney, said late last week—but she's all over the whole Facebook Look Back thing. Rodale has hired Beth Buehler as svp of digital operations and strategy, a newly created position and the latest sign of change at the family-owned company since Scott Schulman was named president in October. Buehler will oversee online activities related to Rodale's health and fitness brands including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Prevention and Runner’s World, as well as its books and e-commerce site Rodale’s.

While two of the biggest advertisers have rotated out of ABC’s Academy Awards broadcast, many more blue chip sponsors are returning to the Red Carpet. As first reported by Adweek, General Motors is in the mix, having replaced Hyundai as the official automotive sponsor, as is Pepsi, which ousted rival Coca-Cola after an eight-year absence.

Droga5 has been named the agency of record for Jockey's men's business.Up until now, much of Jockey's marketing had been handled by agencies on a project-to-project basis. Agency NSG/Swat handled the Jockey Sport campaign for the men's business last year. Droga5 was not among those project agencies, but has now picked up the account without a formal review.

By now most people have probably heard that the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn’t really play their instruments during their performance at this year’s Super Bowl. The group’s base player Flea made the admission on the band’s website a few days ago.
So it was only a matter of time before people in the music world chimed in, to either show support for the Chili Peppers or to speak negatively about them and talk a little trash.

Arthur Chu has been getting some pushback for his unconventional strategy on the popular TV game show ‘Jeopardy’.
The 30-year-old ‘Jeopardy’ champ from Broadview Heights, Ohio, uses a game strategy he calls “The Forrest Bounce”, referring to 8o’s champion Chuck Forrest’s style of play. Chu’s strategy involves ignoring the easy questions and jumping across the board to the questions of higher value in search of the much-desired Daily Doubles.
